True Healing Doesn’t Happen in a Box

There is so much that isn’t known about many chronic diseases. For many of us, there is no “medical” solution to our problems, beyond, perhaps, symptom suppression. Still, though, Jane and Mary are put in the same box of “migraines,” or “fibromyalgia,” or “X.” But considering that so many ailments can’t be reliably fixed with an easy prescription – medicine doesn’t know why a lot of these illnesses happen – it behooves us to start to look at the specifics of our own situation. We can't know how Jane is going to heal from Jane's chronic disease because it isn't the same as Sally's or Mary's, even if it has the same name.

Each of us in unique and whatever condition we are dealing with is individual to our own experience. Our specific adaptations to whatever has happened in our lives makes our disease different from others with the same diagnosis. Therefore, it may be time to inquire: What is your disease resting on? Each person needs support to dive into their own unconsciousness and into their body’s memories to find the space for change to happen. Certain processes need to be put into place. [Alyssa: Wasn’t sure what processes, if they should be mentioned?]

Certain medicines and modalities can lead the way. I favour homeopathic medicine as a way to move out of our chronic tensions and into a new reality. It is fascinating to consider the healing that can happen at the edge of what’s known. Does it make sense for you to consider stepping outside your particular box?
