How much have you changed in the past 20 years?

I spent the last few hours revisiting my life from twenty years ago in Ithaca, NY. I parked my car in front of the house where I lived for two years and walked across the street to the gorge where I started each day. Hiking up into the gorge, I was lost in a stream of memories.

I sat to meditate in the exact spot I used to love. It still felt special.

The smell of the gorge felt familiar and calming and somehow a bit different than the waterways near my home in Dundas, although the geography is quite similar.

I find myself wondering how much I’ve changed in twenty years and how much I’m the same. My interest and orientation are similar. I’d still rather sit alone in the gorge than in a crowded restaurant. My capacity to be still and calm my mind is deeper. My ears are more attuned to the whispers of my inner voice and I struggle much less internally but in many other ways I feel the same.

I look up at the window where I rolled out my yoga mat every morning remembering what my practice felt like then.

I’m still rolling out my mat every morning even though my body is more limited now than then. I see how I’ve grown into myself and feel content.

Twenty years ago I spent many months writing a memoir about my healing but abandoned the project before it was finished. I was too close to the story then and couldn’t settle on a way to share it that was broadly relevant.

Instead I taught yoga and meditation and continued with my healing studies. It feels timely to be back in Ithaca as I prepare to lead my first Life Transformation Intensive this October.

This course is my way of sharing the lessons I’ve learned in 25 years of devoting a lot of time and energy to healing. It offers comprehensive training in the tools you need for radical healing. I look forward to supporting those of you who are ready to make a serious commitment to transforming your life.

Message me for more details. The course starts Oct 19th and will be limited to seven participants.
