The mind will analyze, strategize and rationalize but can it ever help free us? We can question our thinking. We can gain perspective. The mind can be useful in our healing up until a point. After that point, we need presence to heal. We need presence to awaken. We need presence to access truth and peace of mind. Meditation seems like the best way to access presence.

There are so many ways to meditate. Choose one that resonates with you and practice it, over and over again. The mind is a hard nut to crack. No sooner do we stop the practice that the mind sees some open real estate and sneaks back in.

As far as I can see, there’s no way around it. Either we do the work of meditating or the work of managing the untamed mind. To me, the latter is far more work.
